PVP like summons still are pretty much active, which was a surprise because I always liked co-op, so seeing summon signs or being summoned was always fun. I didnt want to look for how to get to the dlc areas but like DS1, I imagine that would be kind hard to guess, so I went to search how to access them. Right now I'm doing them in the order they came out. I've heard that the DLC is much better than the original game.
Altough when you learn what is where and where to go, it's quite easy. It quickly becomes less of a tower, and more of a maze where your orientation is put to a test, which is why I disliked it for the very first time I was playing it (wasn't paying attention to how the areas looks like, and I payed the price). It's one large tower, and you are moving up and down through really narrow paths.
You must get to the end of each pathway, return back to the circle, and then finish the circle itself. For the second time, new pathways will open, and in each new pathway, new enemies will await you. But who does that? The area will have circular shape, and you will have to go through it twice. You can technicaly finish it in 30 minutes.
This makes the final dlc hardest area in the DS2, and for me, it rivals the difficulty of DS1.EDIT: Also, most players are about level 150 when finishing the base game, and about level 200 when finishing base game + all 3 dlcs. In fact, I dare to say that amount of bonfires on area size is lesser, than in DS1 areas like Blightown or Anor Londo. Enemies are truly dangerous, and amount of bonfires is low.
